Examining Sustainability at Barnard

Elizabeth Burton

Elizabeth (she/her) is a Junior (class of 2022) at Barnard College from Augusta, Georgia. She is pursuing a double major in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies & Education. Her focuses are on archives and curricula produced by and about African Americans, particularly in the southern United States. Elizabeth also enjoys studying in the relationship between the education system and media, and she hopes to continue to find ways to bring what she has learned at Barnard into “the real world.” Outside of the classroom, she is interested in mentorship, social justice and arts education. Elizabeth works as a research assistant in Barnard's Education department, a student admissions representative, and with the Columbia University chapter of Young Storytellers.
